Siege Engineering

Project Overview
Giving a senior process engineering firm the identity, website, and market presence it had earned, then running its marketing as a fractional CMO.
Siege Engineering, a Houston process engineering firm serving chemical and petrochemical manufacturers across seven states, came to Cegrix in 2022 with two years of project history, a senior team, and no brand, no website, and no presence where its buyers look. Cegrix created the identity from scratch, built the website, then stepped in as fractional CMO, owning content, LinkedIn, paid media, and monthly reporting to the CEO. In December 2024, a Saudi Aramco engineering unit head messaged the page unprompted. Eight months after the engagement concluded, the CEO posted a public recommendation. The ask was to look like the senior firm it already was.

The Brand
The identity had to work on a business card handed across a plant office and on a LinkedIn feed read by a refinery operations manager.

The Website
Cegrix designed and built siegepe.com, launched it in July 2022 with analytics and Search Console from day one, and has hosted it since.

Fractional CMO Role
Two years as Siege's marketing leader overseeing strategy, budget, and monthly reporting to the CEO.
Thinking like an operator.
Cegrix sat in Siege's monthly strategy meetings and ran everything in between. It controlled the paid media budget, aligned positioning directly with the VP and the sales side, and put a written report in front of the CEO every month. The CEO's time cost was one meeting a month and a report to read. Beyond the content engine: recruitment ad direction, event content capture for a VP keynote, business cards, and corporate holiday gifts.

Marketing Chemical Engineering to the People Who Buy It
Siege's engineers worked in process control, process safety, equipment design, and project management, the kind of work that gets specified by operations leadership and bought on credibility. This was not social media. It was technical marketing. Cegrix researched and wrote on hydrocarbon contamination, LNG standards, regulatory compliance, process simulation and debottlenecking, cooling water treatment, mechanical reliability, and PFAS, each piece aimed at a named buyer: process engineers, operations managers, EHS managers, program and project managers.
Technical content written for engineers, not for an algorithm.
Five to six posts a month plus a monthly article, every one on a topic Siege's buyers deal with.
Precision reach, not lead gen.
In March 2024 Cegrix reported to the CEO that paid lead generation at the available budget was competing against firms spending many multiples more, and redirected paid to awareness among operations and engineering professionals at the majors. Organic carried lead generation from that point.
An article library built for the buyer.
Every technical article published on siegepe.com through 2025 was researched, written and optimized by Cegrix, each one on a problem its buyers deal with.
Reach per LinkedIn campaign demographics reported monthly to the client, 2024 to 2025. Reach means ad impressions served to employees of these companies. It never means clients or leads.
LinkedIn Posts

One technical post. One message from Saudi Aramco.
This post, on hydrocarbon contamination, drew an unprompted inquiry from an engineering unit head at Saudi Aramco in December 2024. Cegrix replied the same day from the Siege page and routed the contact to the CEO.
Proof on file. The individual is not named.
The Results
Four years on, the site is still live and hosted by Cegrix, and the CEO's public recommendation came eight months after the engagement ended.
Site live July.
"Sean was a strong marketing partner for Siege Engineering. He brought a strategic approach to our LinkedIn presence, website content, and how Siege showed up across the market. He developed and executed a consistent content strategy across LinkedIn articles, website articles, and ongoing social media activity that grew our follower base and sharpened our brand voice in the industry.
What stood out most was Sean's ability to translate engineering services into clear business messaging that resonated with our target audience. His reporting was clear, strategic, and actually useful at the leadership level. He thought like an operator, not just a marketer, which is rare and valuable.
Sean has my recommendation for any company looking for a senior marketing leader who understands strategy, brand, and the systems behind real growth."
